Introduction
Ribonuclease A, RNase A, RNase 1, Lyophilized Powder, DNase free
Description:
We present a superior grade Highly Purified RNase A, commonly recognized as RNase 1, supplied in a lyophilized powder form for maximized stability and extended versatility in RNA degradation research applications. This premium ribonuclease enzyme is isolated from bovine pancreas to guarantee exceptional purity and activity.
Applications:
RNA Degradation Studies: Essential for investigating RNA stability, turnover rates, and degradation pathways under various conditions or by different regulatory mechanisms.
Total RNA Isolation Optimization: For controlling background RNA levels during total RNA isolation procedures to improve the yield and purity of other RNA species of interest.
RNA Quality Control: Used as a positive control for RNase treatment in experiments where removal or digestion of RNA is required, such as DNA purification steps.
In vitro Transcription Inhibition: To terminate in vitro transcription reactions or to study the kinetics of RNA synthesis.
Northern Blotting: For RNA fragmentation prior to gel electrophoresis to obtain defined band patterns or size distributions.
Ribonucleoprotein (RNP) Complex Disruption: Employed in the dissociation of RNP complexes to isolate or analyze RNA components.
Microarray Hybridization Controls: As a tool to monitor hybridization efficiency or to remove unhybridized RNA during microarray experiments.
Pancreatic Ribonuclease (RNase A or RNase 1) catalyzes cleavage of the phosphodiester bond between the 5′-ribose of a nucleotide and the phosphate group attached to the 3′-ribose of an adjacent pyrimidine nucleotide forming a 2′,3′-cyclic phosphate which may then be hydrolyzed to the corresponding 3′-nucleoside phosphate. Ribonuclease A has a molecular weight of 13,700 daltons. It operates in an optimum pH range of 7.0-7.5.
The ultrapure Pancreatic Ribonuclease has been further purified by affinity chromatography method to remove trace contaminating proteases.
